While these little buggers were making big news for their invasive nature, I was busy contemplating how to use their very beautiful wings in my jewelry creations.
I have a lot of “Tree of Heaven” in my area which happens to be one of their native host plants, but is also invasive to our deciduous trees in the U.S. The Lanternflies feed on the sap of these trees and I often find them dead at the base of them. So these wings are also ethically sourced and have lived their natural span of life.
